Last night, members of Snoqualmie Valley Indivisible engaged with the North Bend City Council to continue our request that local governments proactively prepare for potential ICE activity in the Snoqualmie Valley. Linda, one of our members, spoke on behalf of SVI, building on the concerns we raised last week in Snoqualmie, and Jesse followed with his own powerful comments. Together, they asked the City to thoughtfully review its policies and preparedness to ensure North Bend is never used as a staging or operational base for civil immigration enforcement.

I want to sincerely thank the SVI members and community allies (over 30) who showed up to stand in solidarity during public comment. Your presence matters — it sends a clear message that this community is paying attention and cares deeply about safety, clarity, and trust between residents and local government.

At our recent group meeting, we talked about setting a shared goal of engaging our local city governments — partnering where possible and applying pressure when needed — to advance inclusive, proactive policies at the local level. This engagement with North Bend is a direct example of that work in action.

If you weren’t able to attend the meeting but would like to receive updates, alerts, or participate in future hyper-local advocacy efforts (including council engagement), please direct message me your name and phone number. We’re building a small coordination group to stay connected and move quickly when local action is needed.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, speak out, and help make the Snoqualmie Valley a place where all neighbors feel safe and supported.
